Maldives is one of the most popular destination for couples looking to share some special moments with their loved ones.  There are a lot of beautiful places in the world, but then there are places that you get to see in real live that blow your mind away. Furaveri maldives is one of those places that photos don’t do justice.

Furaveri Maldives is nestled in one of Maldives’ most untouched corners – the Raa Atoll, only 45 minutes away from the international airport.

The moment our airplane touched down at Velana International Airport, the DuoEscape team immediately felt the warmth and professionalism of Furaveri staff.

The Furaveri Lounge is another reason the DuoEscape team was truly impressed from the very beginning. As you wait for your seaplane transfer to arrive, you can unwind at the Furaveri Lounge and enjoy its well thought amenities — from light snacks and refreshing drinks to cozy massage chairs and private showers — all while indulging in a taste of Furaveri’s signature hospitality. 

The seaplane experience was amazing and the arrival at the resort was truly the highlight. The entire team greeted us in a traditional Maldivian way, with drum music and handcrafted necklaces made out of coconut leaves. After that warm welcome, we were escorted to the reception where our personal concierge took care of every detail and ensured that every request during our stay was met with ease.

2. The island vibe

The island on which the resort is situated is a natural formed island, blessed with stunning house reef and clear crystal waters. Unlike many Maldivian islands that have artificial breakwaters or seawalls reducing the natural beach area, Furaveri remains untouched with wide beaches surrounding the entire island so you can truly enjoy it. On top of that, the island’s lush nature enhances the experience — you can truly feel the authentic island vibe as you wander among tall coconut trees and tropical greenery.

3. Villa & Suites Experience

At Furaveri Luxury Resort, you can choose from a wide range of villas and suites designed to suit every preference. What we loved most was the flexibility to experience two different types of villas during our stay because we weren’t limited to just one. We opted for an overwater villa and a beach villa with a private  pool. We asked the same question to other resorts, and they didn’t have this option included.

We had the chance to experience both sides of paradise at Furaveri – the Overwater Villa and the Beach Pool Villa and each revealed a different kind of magic.

Beach Pool Villa

We began our stay in a Beach Pool Villa, a private hideaway surrounded by lush greenery and tall coconut trees. Every now and then, a curious waterhen would wander out from the bushes — a small reminder that you’re truly in the heart of a natural island. The best part? The ocean and its soft white sand were just a few barefoot steps away.

The bathroom was a true highlight — a seamless blend of indoor comfort and outdoor freedom. Designed with beautiful wooden details and natural textures, it felt like stepping into a tropical spa. There were two rain showers — one indoors and another under the open sky — letting you choose between privacy or the luxury of showering surrounded by nature. The large freestanding bathtub stood at the center, framed by lush plants and soft light filtering through the wooden beams. It became our favorite evening ritual — a long, quiet soak under the stars with only the sound of the ocean nearby.

One of the most memorable moments from our beach pool villa was our floating breakfast, a kind of experience that feels straight out of a dream. It was the perfect slow morning indulging in different beverages and plenty of delicious food. It’s an experience you must try when staying with Furaveri Maldives.

Overwater villa

There is something amazing about waking up directly above the turquoise lagoon, with only the sound of gentle waves beneath your feet and surrounded by silence. The overwater villa didn’t had a private pool, but after experiencing the beach pool villa, we didn’t feel the need for it.  The private deck had an amazing bath and shower outside, so the experience was more authentic for the DuoEscape team. 

Inside, the villa felt airy and peaceful — modern yet warm, with panoramic windows that made the ocean part of the room itself.
